Ticketing (simple version)

Use index cards or sticky notes. Each ticket has four things: a title (what to do), a requester (who asked), an assignee (who does it), and a due time (when it finishes). Create three columns on a board: To Do, Doing, Done.

Why it matters: Physical tickets are tactile and visible. Students can see work moving. A middle school teacher tried a digital board first; students ignored it because it lived on a screen. She switched to sticky notes, and within one day every ticket was moving.

Example: A ticket might say ‘Sharpen all pencils – requested by Teacher – assigned to Maria – due by 10:15 AM.’ Maria moves it from To Do to Doing, sharpens pencils, then moves it to Done. That’s the whole cycle.
